A Government of, by, and for the Psychopaths
America has been gleefully overrun by psychopaths. Do we have the collective will to pull it back from the brink?

The latest exercise in unmitigated psychopathy from this administration comes in the form of a detention center in the Florida Everglades, dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” by proponents and detractors alike. Its promoters, unsurprisingly, are gleeful.
“The White House has delighted in the area’s remoteness — about 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Miami — and the fact that it is teeming with pythons and alligators.”

The joy over this cruelty is not limited to Trump and his acolytes who have infested the administration. The Florida GOP is selling merchandise to the MAGA faithful, which I suppose is, in one twisted sense, a public service, making it easier to identify and avoid Nazis.
It’s difficult to illustrate the cruelty here, and while I make an effort to avoid hyperbole, I have no hesitation about referring to this detention center as a concentration camp. Some MAGA cultists have confessed openly that the end game is a genocide.

I can’t help but imagine the spirits of those who perished at the hands of the Third Reich screaming for us to act now, before it’s too late to halt an unspeakable tragedy. Far too many Americans are either celebrating this administration’s depravity, indifferent to it, or utterly unaware. I hope that we can find our collective conscience now, and that our choices in this critical moment bring peace to those restless spirits.
