Be kind. Harassment, threats, and general jerkiness will result in bans at the author's discretion, depending on how he feels that day. The term “general jerkiness” includes malicious, smug, condescending, or patronizing behavior. A good guideline to use is to use language you'd use with someone you were speaking in person. If what you wrote isn't a tone you'd use with someone in person, take a breath and rewrite it.
